Our practice, New England Oral Surgery is seeking a Patient Care Coordinator to join our growing practice This position is Monday - Thursday, 8 am to 5 pm and Fridays 7 am to 2 pm. Our office is located at 14 North Main Street, Suite 4001 Barre, VT 05641.As the Patient Care Coordinator you will be providing customer service over the phone and in-person, acting as the director of first impressions. This position requires a self-starter who finds value working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment while providing support and solutions to patients.Major responsibilitiesGreets visitors, patients, and families in a friendly, professional manner and directs them appropriately.Maintains an efficient patient flow through the registration process and provides excellent customer service to patients/families.Promptly answers the telephone, directs all calls appropriately, takes an accurate message, and delivers to the appropriate individual/demonstrates appropriate etiquette.Posts all self-pay charges, collects payments and provides patients with receipts.Reconciles billing slips to daily schedule. Updates patient information, including demographics, insurance, HIPAA forms, and financial waivers.Schedules appointments accurately according to department guidelines, using a waitlist when applicable.Effectively communicates problems, concerns, or issues to the Office Supervisor / Manager appropriately and promptly.Performs various clerical duties such as faxing, photocopying, scanning, filing, and mailings. Demonstrates flexibility with various work schedules, and covers for other staff when asked, including other office locations.Demonstrates the ability to follow downtime procedures adequately.RequirementsHigh School Diploma required, A.S. Degree in healthcare/related field preferredComprehensive knowledge of electronic medicsAdeptness in HealthCare IndustryExpertise in Answering Inbound CallsBe able to prioritize workload and perform in a fast-paced and challenging environment Excellent phone etiquette and ability to establish rapport with diverse clientele1+ year of experience as a Medical ReceptionistPrior experience with multi-line phone systems/dental preferredPerks of the Job:Highly competitive hourly rate plus annual performance and compensation reviews.Competitive health insurance and benefits, including medical, dental, vision, disability, and more.
