The Marketing Assistant will assist the Marketing and Events Specialist and other staff as needed in communicating the mission and vision of World Relief Upstate SC and its programs to a wide variety of constituencies, including local churches, volunteers, community members, and donors.

Role & Responsibilities

Storytelling/Content Gathering Conduct interviews with relevant parties to gather information, quotes and releases. Capture photos/videos of clients, staff and volunteers for use in WR Upstate SC’s communications. Ideation/Customer Discovery Collaborate with Community Engagement Director and Marketing and Events Specialist to discover and meet target audience needs/wants. Brainstorm ideas for growing and engaging target audience. Pursue new story leads. Administration Complete research on communication, marketing and other topics related to WR Upstate SC’s ministry. Assist with keeping digital marketing and communication materials and programs organized. Other duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

Strong leadership skills to motivate and inspire a diverse group of people. Strong written and verbal communication in English. Experience working with churches and comfortable with public presentations. Demonstrated ability to solve problems in an efficient, calm manner. Demonstrated ability to coordinate logistics. Demonstrated ability to multi-task and manage multiple deadlines with a limited degree of supervision. Must have the ability to work under pressure with flexibility in a virtual or in-person team setting. Excellent interpersonal, collaborative and communication skills; demonstrated ability to establish positive working relationships at all levels of the organization. Demonstrated ability to perform well in spite of complex challenges. Able to build positive inter-departmental relationships. Self-motivated worker with the ability to problem solve and demonstrate initiative. Previous experience with volunteer management and training development preferred. Demonstrated ability to work effectively and sensitively with people of diverse cultural and religious backgrounds. Requirements

Current driver’s license and access to reliable transportation required. Flexibility in schedule required (meetings with volunteers or clients may fall outside normal business hours). Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required. $16 - $18 an hour
