Noblis MSD scientists, engineers, technical staff, analysts, and program managers identify and deploy new shipboard technologies, integrate information technology across shipboard platforms and shipboard systems, and develop computing and networking strategies to support the Warfighter. Noblis MSD employees create strategic solutions to help customers reach new levels of mission support and transform their organizations.

Noblis MSD has an immediate opening for a Systems Engineer on the Military Sealift and US Coast Guard Critical Design Agent (CDA) Team. This position is a full-time direct hire position 100% onsite at NAVWAR Information Center Point Loma following 9/80 schedule.

On the CDA team, you would be a part of an engineering team tasked with designing, integrating, and automating the deployment of complex shipboard computer systems. This role requires the integration of knowledge related to hardware, software, networking, operating system administration, scripting/coding, and security. The ideal candidate is interested in a wide range of IT subjects and is always looking to learn more. While the candidate may not currently have knowledge of all areas listed below, they are excited to put together a personal development plan to develop new skills.

Roles & Responsibilities:
  • Analyze hardware & software requirements for Naval vessels.
  • Develop design solutions for server, storage and networking solutions.
  • Configure enterprise servers and hardware: BIOS, Drivers, Expansion cards, Networking, remote management (iLO, iDRAC), Cisco IOS
  • Install and configure VMWare ESXi & vSphere products.
  • Configure storage arrays, design topologies, and create storage templates.
  • Identify potential networking issues affecting all CI hardware and work with Network Integration (NI) team to isolate and resolve.
  • Run, test, and develop deployment automation scripts using PowerShell, Python, and Ansible.
  • Analyze security scan findings and modify configuration of any CI hardware to comply with relevant STIG(s).
  • Define the backup storage footprint based on architecture decisions and subsystem direction.
  • Assess new technology and vendor offerings to drive alternative configurations of the compute infrastructure.
  • Analyze system performance to include quantifying performance parameters, identifying bottlenecks, and measuring throughput.
  • Perform various Sys Admin tasks while working with Windows, Linux, and Hypervisors.
  • Maintain state-of-the-art knowledge of technologies, planning, design, and analysis methodologies.
Required Qualifications

  • US Security Clearance: Active Secret
  • Ability to perform on-site work in San Diego, CA
  • A DOD IAT level 2 approved professional certification such as CompTIA Security+, CCNA-security, SSCP, CND, GSEC, GICSP, CySA+. Please see DoD Approved 8570 Baseline Certifications - DoD Cyber Exchange
  • Bachelor's Degree in technical field + 3 years of relevant experience OR Associate's Degree + 6 years of relevant experience OR High School + 9 years of relevant experience

Salary at Noblis is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the combination of education, certifications, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, internal and external equity, location, and clearance level, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements and applicable employment laws. The projected compensation range for this position is provided within the posting and are based on full time status. Part time staff receive a prorated salary based on regularly scheduled hours. The estimated minimum and maximum displayed represents the broadest range for this position (inclusive of high geographic and high clearance requirements), and is just one component of Noblis' total compensation package for employees.
