Role Summary

The Senior Accountant will analyze more complex financial information and prepare financial reports. This position will be responsible for preparing, examining and analyzing accounting records, financial statements and financial reports, and investigating and resolving accounting issues. All activities will be performed in support of the strategy, vision and values of JE Dunn.
  • Autonomy & Decision-Making: Follows directions, makes decisions on routine matters and refers all exceptions to supervisor.

Key Role Responsibilities - Core

ACCOUNTANT FAMILY - CORE
  • Executes system data, including entry, batches, daily cash, notifying project teams of accounts receivable collection, billing, job cost transactions, employee reimbursement and fixed assets.
  • Prepares, examines and analyzes accounting records, financial statements and financial reports. Assesses accuracy, completeness and conformance to reporting and procedural standards.
  • Establishes tables of accounts and assigns entries to proper accounts.
  • Helps develop, implement, modify and document record-keeping and accounting systems.
  • Assists operations with interpreting financial key performance indicators.
  • Participates in periodic finance group meetings.
  • Manages difficult or emotional customer situations promptly and efficiently.
  • Meets client commitments; recognizes and acts upon service opportunities.
  • Solicits and applies feedback to improve quality and service.
  • Works with all internal departments to help resolve financial matters.

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting (Required)
  • In lieu of the above requirements, equivalent relevant experience will be considered.
Experience
  • 5+ years accounting experience (Required)
  • 2+ years construction industry experience (Preferred)
  • 2+ years public accounting experience (Preferred)
