So. What is this gig all about? R\West is looking for a dynamic accounting team member to join our advertising agency team as a Staff Accountant. The ideal candidate has experience in accounting and clerical support, and will be supporting our Senior Accountant and R\West team of account managers to ensure client billing accuracies and timelines. What would I REALLY be doing? What would I be responsible for? As our staff accountant, you will be supporting our Senior Accountant with a wide variety of tasks from data entry to accounts payable to database management. You will assist with a broad range of accounting and operational functions including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger management, financial analysis, and tax management. What should I bring coming in? Bachelor’s degree preferred. Job experience will be considered. Minimum 1-3 years accounting experience Understanding of and the ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles Ability to correctly prepare tax reports Strong attention to detail and accuracy Excellent organizational and prioritization skills to manage multiple ongoing projects at any given time Highly professional by using good judgment and maintaining a high level of confidentiality Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office and general computer technology skills required A strong team player, responsible, dependent with strong communication skills. And What would I be doing every day? General Ledger (GL) Management: Maintain and update the general ledger with accurate and timely entries Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual account reconciliations and closing activities Assist with accounting policy documentation and creation Accounts Payable (AP): Process and verify vendor invoices for accuracy and appropriate coding Manage payment processes including checks, ACH, and wire transfers Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies promptly Accounts Receivable (AR): Generate and distribute customer invoices Monitor accounts receivable aging and pursue collections Reconcile AR accounts and apply payments accurately Financial Analysis: Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement Support the budgeting and forecasting processes with relevant data and insights Miscellaneous Duties: Assist with internal and external audits Ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulations, and company policies Participate in special projects and provide ad hoc financial analysis as needed Collaborate with other departments to enhance financial processes and procedures Who would I work with? In this position, you would report to the Senior Accountant and work closely with our office assistant as well as the agency partners. You would also interface with our Account Management Team (we call them Brand Managers) to ensure client billing is timely, accurate and up to date. This position does not currently manage other team members. Sounds fun, rewarding and awesome. Wait. I actually get paid for this?
