Job Description
The successful candidate will Increase the value of the Human Resource function in support of company success. Provide Human Resource services to the assigned client departments. Counsel and advise employees regarding company policies, practices, and procedures. Lead and/or provide significant support to HR projects to improve processes. Integrate and utilize HR systems to increase the effectiveness of HR generalist activities.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Provide on-the-ground support for employment issues and implementation of HR policies and practices; manage and consult on employee and labor relations; conduct training and development programs; provide compensation/staffing consultant and coaching services to managers.
- Responsible for the development and implementation of relevant HR processes, providing solutions for the needs of internal clients taking into account existing corporate policies and current legislation.
- Recommend new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of department and services performed Ownership of projects on an ad-hoc basis such as annual performance reviews and engagement surveys.
- Proactively encourage the use of HR Shared Services enquiry mechanisms (Astra Telephony, MyHR) as an initial source of data for both employees and managers to refer to Liaise with other HR Shared Services colleagues to ensure activities are completed and data integrity maintained within the HR master data system.
- Ensure that all working polices are in place, up to date and reviewed on an annual basis or as legislation dictates Ensure HR compliance to Smiths quality standards and adherence to division/group policies/procedures/ code of ethics.
- May serve as a member of the site leadership team.
- Additional duties as assigned.

The Individual
- Preference a Bachelor's degree in Human Resources management or a business related field.
- Minimum 4 years human resources experience to include minimum 2 years' experience in recruiting. SHRM or PHR certification preferred.
- Excellent project management skills.
- Previous broad HR experience essential (Shared Services experience preferred) Working knowledge of local/ regional employment legislation
