Job Summary
The Flintco Quality Assurance Manager is responsible for the development, review, and implementation of company-wide and project-specific quality documentation and processes. This position is part of the Construction Support Services (CSS) team.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
All duties and responsibilities include the following; however, other duties may be assigned. •Assists CSS staff in the creation, adoption, maintenance, and change/configuration management of company-wide Quality policies, processes, procedures, tools, and templates.
•Assists CSS staff in the development and maintenance of technology platforms used to host Quality programming information.
•Assists Operations staff in the development of project-specific Quality Assurance Plans (QAP), inclusive of mandatory and elective programming requirements.
•Facilitates initiation, planning, and kickoff meetings between CSS staff, Operations staff, and affected stakeholders -utilized to perform risk assessments, identify definable features of work, develop conditions of satisfaction, delineate roles and responsibilities, and define trade partner solicitation requirements.
•Facilitates early review of project design configuration for key assemblies/installations with a focus on design quality, design clarity and constructability.
•Facilitates pre-installation and pre-commissioning meetings for various building systems and trade partners.
•Integrates quality management elements into operational practices, such as Last Planner System® implementation.
•Generates project-specific forms, inspections, and agenda templates using company-wide baselines available in corporate tools, such as Procore.
•Integrates with Flintco's Visual Design & Construction (VDC) team to ensure appropriate technologies are utilized on a project-level for quality assurance and control activities.
•Manages and oversees inspections of construction systems, investigates non-conformances through the use of root cause analysis, and initiates, implements, and coordinates corrective/preventative actions, as appropriate.
•Interacts with trade partners, architects, and engineers on behalf of project staff regarding technical issues, specification requirements, and inspection methods and scheduling.
•Keeps management team abreast of significant issues or developments identified during quality activities and corrective/preventative actions are taken to assure continuous process improvement.
•Investigates customer complaints regarding quality.
•Mentors and assists project staff in quality assurance and control activities, including advising management on implementation and effectiveness of Quality Management tools, following and enforcing Safety Rules and Practices. Provides oversight of testing logs for specific scopes and installations, and consults on the development of
subcontractor inspection and test plans. Accurately tracks status of milestones.
•Performs audits, assessments, and non-advocate reviews to ensure Flintco's Quality Assurance Plan is up to date and being executed. Communicates and teams with peers, supervisors, and managers on assignments. Helps management to prioritize effort for installed products.

May supervise junior members of the CSS team

Knowledge/Skills/Ability
Able to work independently. Expertise and experience in the following construction trades. AISC, ASME, NBIC, and project specific quality management systems. Ability and expectation to spend 70 percent of time in the field and 30 documenting findings. Identify and complete training to become Flintco SME for Lean and other value-added programs. Data analytics and problem solving. Ability to stop work, if necessary, to resolve matters that affect safety, quality and/or inhibit the logical progress of work. Able to accurately and timely verify control and archiving of all quality documentation.
Education
BS degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management or related field or an equivalent combination of education
and experience.
Experience
5-10 years of Commercial/Industrial inspection, construction supervision, or hands on related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

May be required to work long hours for extended periods of time.

Special Job Dimensions
The office provides a safe and healthy work environment, is adequately heated and cooled, is free from exposure and extreme conditions, has appropriate lighting and office furnishings, and is smoke-free and drug-free. While performing the duties of this position in the fabrication shop, warehouse, maintenance shop or at a project site, the employee could be regularly exposed to any number of the following, including, but not limited to: moving mechanical parts; moving machinery; high, precarious places (including, but not limited to, being raised several hundred feet in a bucket); close tight quarters; rough and sloped terrain; fumes or airborne particles; drilling and blasting activities; welding activities; toxic or caustic chemicals; the potential of falling rock; and outside weather conditions. The employee may be occasionally exposed to risk of electrical shock and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is generally loud.
* NOTE - Where allowed employees who work in positions classified as "safety-sensitive" can be disciplined if they test positive for marijuana or its metabolites, even if they have a valid state medical marijuana license. In addition, Flintco may also refuse to hire applicants for safety-sensitive jobs who test positive for marijuana as part of a pre-employment drug test, even if those applicants can produce a valid medical marijuana patient license.
