Purpose of the position

The Sales and Application Engineer is responsible for achieving the sales goals of a defined range of the companys Industrial Production in a defined territory. The territory that this person will cover is Indiana, Kentucky, Ohio, and Michigan. He/she will visit customer sites, identify projects and instrumentation requirements, provide advice on appropriate applications, and sell those company products.
Your typical day

Respond to requests for technical, price, delivery, and service information.
Provide advice on the appropriate application of each company product.
Develop and implement a sales strategy in conjunction with the Sales Manager.
Identifies and penetrates OEM and Tier companies and coordinates strategy with the Sales Manager.
Identifies new application opportunities and unique market requirements, consults with the Sales Manager and Application Experts on special solutions.
Maintain current knowledge of new and existing products and applications.
Assists in preparing special project proposals as required.
Attend and support exhibitions, conference, and industry association meetings.
Supports the introduction of Kistler products with customers through direct on-site support potentially including product installation and training for customer engineers and technicians.
Acts as an expert at trade shows to help market Kistler products and generates new business opportunities.
Develop relationships with customer to ensure needs in the product are defined.
Your profile

Bachelor degree in an appropriate engineering discipline from an accredited four (4) year college is required.
Must have 3+ years of technical sales experience.
Good written and verbal communication skills.
Knowledge of Microsoft office products.
Authorized to work in the US.
A current and valid drivers license and passport are required.
Physical requirements: ability to lift 50 pounds.
Travel requirements: available to travel 60% of the time by car.
Airline travel is required as well as occasional trips abroad for training.
Preferred Requirements:
Experience in the application of force, pressure and torque transducers, associated electronics, software, and controls to measure, monitor and evaluate manufacturing processes in the application areas addressed by those products.
Strong knowledge of electro-mechanical systems and assembly operations a plus.
