PHB, Inc. is a highly automated and technologically advanced manufacturer with capabilities consisting of zinc and aluminum die casting, machining, and product assembly. PHB services many markets including appliance, telecommunications, electronics, electrical equipment, automotive, transportation, industrial equipment, instrumentation, aerospace, and defense industries.

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail oriented individual to join our team as a Staff Accountant. The ideal candidate will be an analytical thinker with a strong understanding of accounting principles.

The role will be responsible for performing a variety of accounting duties including: general ledger maintenance, account reconciliations, preparing financial reports, and assisting with month end closing processes. Additional responsibilities will include: preparing journal entries, banking activities, and miscellaneous financial analysis. Compensation based on experience.

Principal Responsibilities and Duties:
  • Closing the general ledger monthly and running applicable financial reports
  • Monthly reconciliations of bank accounts
  • Recording and reviewing general journal entries
  • Inventory reconciliations and adjustments
  • Payment processing via banking applications
  • Supporting AR and AP functions
  • Sales and use tax filings
  • Monthly reconciliation of credit card balances
  • Inter-company transactions
  • Miscellaneous financial analysis
  • Variance analysis
  • Supporting internal management reporting
  • Assisting with audits
  • Ad hoc requests
Requirements:
  • Flexibility, reliability, and ability to manage multiple tasks
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, business, or a related field, preferred or equivalent experience
  • Working knowledge of accounting principles, financial statements, and accounting systems
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Detail-oriented and able to prioritize
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Self-starter with honesty and integrity
  • Effective problem-solving skills to identify and correct financial discrepancies
  • Technical accounting skills
  • Understanding of accounting standards and regulatory requirements
