Job Title: Development Project Manager - Power Distribution

Overview:

As a Development Project Manager in the power distribution industry, you will be responsible for overseeing the planning phase of development projects related to power distribution systems. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop comprehensive project plans, timelines, and budgets. Your role will be pivotal in driving the successful initiation and planning of projects that contribute to the enhancement and optimization of power distribution infrastructure. This job is a critical role to set up for not only project success but success of the entire program.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Project Planning and Coordination:
  • Develop comprehensive project plans outlining project scope, objectives, deliverables, and milestones for power distribution development projects.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define project requirements, constraints, and success criteria.
  • Conduct feasibility of the project, risk assessments, and cost analyses to make project planning decisions.
  • Define project roles and responsibilities, and establish communication channels to facilitate effective collaboration.
  1. Timeline and Resource Management:
  • Develop project timelines and schedules, and determine resources, including personnel, equipment, and materials, to support project objectives.
  • Monitor project progress against established timelines, and identify potential bottlenecks or delays.
  • Implement strategies to optimize resource allocation and streamline project workflows to ensure timely completion.
  1. Budget and Cost Estimation:
  • Work closely with finance and accounting teams to review and incorporate project budgets and cost estimates based on project requirements and resource allocation.
  • Monitor project expenditures and track financial performance against budgetary targets.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and propose adjustments to project plans as needed to ensure alignment with budget constraints.
  1. Stakeholder Management:
  • Foster strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including engineering teams, regulatory authorities, suppliers, financial analysist, other project managers, scheduling department, upper level management, scoping department, public affairs, and surveyors.
  • Communicate project plans, timelines, and resource requirements effectively to stakeholders to ensure alignment and support.
  • Address stakeholder concerns and inquiries, and proactively manage expectations throughout the project planning process.
  1. Risk Management:
  • Communicate with the risk team to identify potential risks and uncertainties associated with projects and develop risk mitigation plans.
  • Conduct scenario analysis and contingency planning to address potential challenges and minimize project disruptions.
  • Document risk assessment findings and mitigation strategies to guide decision-making and project planning efforts.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Project Management, or related field. Master's degree preferred.
  • Proven experience in project planning within the power distribution industry, with a focus on infrastructure development projects.
  • Strong technical knowledge of power distribution systems, equipment, and regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in project management tools and software including but not limited to PowerBi, Sharepoint, Procore, Excel, Word, Powerpoint, GIS, Primavera P6
  • PMP certification or equivalent preferred.
