Senior Patient Services Specialist

Job DescriptionThe Patient Services Coordinator II provides support and clinic coordination of multiple patient care services as well as patient orientation for the Swedish Cancer Institute on multiple campuses, exercising independence in the planning and accomplishment of a wide spectrum of clerical duties. Responsibilities include: scheduling of new patients, follow-up clinic appointments, subsequent treatments, and requested diagnostic tests, acquiring of insurance verifications, referrals and authorizations, preparing and maintaining the patient's medical record, reconciling billing issues, answering multiple phone lines and triaging phone calls.Providence caregivers are not simply valued - they're invaluable. Your voice matters here, because we know that to inspire and retain the best people, we must empower them.Required Qualifications: Coursework/Training: Successful completion of Oncology administrative training within six months. within 6 months (180 days) of hire Medical Terminology Certification or successful completion of a Medical Terminology course. 1 year Experience in a healthcare setting preferred (i.e. physician's office, scheduler, etc.). Experienced in obtaining insurance verifications, referrals and authorizations.Preferred Qualifications: Associate's Degree Emphasis in Health Care. Or equivalent educ/experience.
