Summary:

The Lead Psychiatric Technician is a member of the Interdisciplinary team that works under the direction of the Nurse Manager. This person interfaces with other members of the treatment team to create a safe and therapeutic environment in which patients are supported in achieving their treatment goals. The Lead Psychiatric Technician is a mentor and role model for all unit staff and embodies the mission, vision and goals of the hospital and demonstrates a commitment to creating a culture of caring.

Responsibilities:

Mentors and guides employees, facilitates ongoing educational and growth opportunities Facilitates monthly Psychiatric Technician meetings Works alongside the Registered Nurse to ensure treatment plan interventions are carried out by direct care staff Supports and assists as needed with organizing and preparing groups based on patient population needs Collaborates with Nurse, Charge Nurse, Assistant Nurse Manager and Nurse Manager to ensure unit safety practices and policies are adhered to. Serves as unit safety representative and is responsible for ensuring environmental safety is adhered to and identifying areas needing improvement Performs and maintains audits at direction of Nurse Manager Collaborates with unit leadership to devise and implement guidelines and protocols Other Duties
