Duration: 3-month contract, 40 hours per week

Responsibilities:
  • Review shipping notices, bills of lading, invoices, and orders to prioritize shipments and plan work assignments.
  • Supervise incoming and outgoing shipments to ensure accuracy, completeness, and condition of items.
  • Determine placement of shipments in trucks and boxcars, ensuring efficient use of space.
  • Plan truck routes considering legal load limits and schedules.
  • Monitor loading operations to meet shipping specifications; seal boxcars and truck doors.
  • Inspect material handling equipment for issues and coordinate repairs as needed.
  • Maintain vehicle maintenance records.
  • Coordinate movement of shipments to storage and work areas.
  • Maintain records of unfilled orders and post weight and shipping charges.
  • Prepare bills of lading.
  • Develop and standardize procedures to enhance efficiency.
  • Address errors and customer complaints promptly.
Requirements:
  • Shipping and Receiving Experience
  • Experience with stand-up forklift operation.
  • Proficiency in using UPS/FedEx systems (Clipper Ship).
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
