Do you thrive on reporting under deadline pressure and delivering scoops as well as analysis? The Daily Beast is seeking experienced, dynamic and dedicated political reporters to join our team.
About the Role

As a political reporter, based in Washington, D.C., you will be at the forefront of covering the fast-paced political landscape that has been radically altered by the outcome of the 2024 presidential and congressional elections. You will be responsible for producing high-quality, engaging content that informs and captivates our readers about the powerbrokers in the second Trump administration, the president-elect's initiatives, major highlights in the-GOP controlled 119th Congress, and pushback from Democrats and their allies in Congress, the courts, and the streets.
Key Responsibilities
  • Report and write timely and accurate political news stories.
  • Conduct interviews and perform research to uncover the truth and hold elected officials accountable.
  • Collaborate with editors and other reporters to ensure comprehensive coverage.
  • Stay informed on current political events and trends.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in political reporting.
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and communication skills.
  • Proven ability to work under tight deadlines.
  • Strong understanding of political processes and issues.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Pay Range Salary

The pay range for this position is $75,000 to $100,000 annually.

The base salary range represents the anticipated low and high end of the salary range for this position. Actual salaries may vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to work location, experience, performance and other factors. The range listed is just one component of the Daily Beast's total compensation package. The Daily Beast provides a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, 401K employer matching program, paid holidays, and paid time off (PTO).
