A leading financial institution is seeking a highly skilled Big Data Engineer to join our growing Data Engineering team. In this role, you will play a critical part in designing, developing, and maintaining robust data pipelines to process and analyze large datasets in support of our business needs.

Responsibilities:
  • Design, develop, and implement big data solutions using Hadoop, Spark, and other related technologies.
  • Work with data architects to understand business requirements and translate them into technical specifications for data pipelines.
  • Develop and maintain scalable data ingestion pipelines using tools like Kafka and Flume.
  • Process and transform large datasets using tools like Hive, Pig, and Spark SQL.
  • Perform data quality checks and ensure data integrity throughout the data pipeline.
  • Collaborate with data analysts and data scientists to provide access to the data they need for analysis.
  • Monitor and maintain the health and performance of big data infrastructure.
  • Stay up-to-date on the latest big data technologies and trends.
Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of experience in data engineering, software development, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in SQL (minimum 6 years of experience) with a strong understanding of relational database concepts and querying techniques.
  • Proven experience with big data technologies such as Hadoop (YARN, HDFS, MapReduce), Spark (Spark Streaming, Spark SQL), and Kafka.
  • Experience with data warehousing concepts and data modeling techniques.
  • Experience with scripting languages like Python, Shell, or Bash.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) a plus.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
