SQL Database Reporting Manager


Location: Addison, TX 75001

Work Schedule: Hybrid Role - 3 days in-office (may consider 2 days per week); not flexible on the hybrid arrangement.

Interview Process: The first interview will be onsite.

Direct Reports: 2 - 3 developers or analysts.


Role and Responsibilities:

The SQL Database Reporting Manager will focus on analyzing healthcare financial data and developing reports that provide insights into the operational and financial health of the business. This role is highly technical, hands-on, and data-driven, requiring strong expertise in SQL Server and Power BI. The position involves leading a small team of Data Analysts and Report Developers and collaborating closely with various departments, including Business Users, Billing, Finance, and Database and Application teams. The ideal candidate should have experience in financial data analysis and reporting related to healthcare claims management, as well as managing small teams.


Key responsibilities include:

  • Requirement Gathering: Collect and document business and functional requirements and specifications.
  • Quality & Consistency: Ensure the quality and consistency of all reports and metrics, assisting in their consolidation.
  • Data Analysis & Reporting: Analyze data, build database tables, stored procedures, and reports to deliver requested information.
  • Team Leadership: Lead a small team of data analysts/report developers and manage their deliverables.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the Database & Application Team and other stakeholders to coordinate on projects.
  • Project Management: Collaborate with business owners to define priorities, plan, develop, test, and deploy solutions.
  • Metrics Development: Define key metrics to provide insights and obtain approval for development.
  • Business Process Mapping: Understand business processes and map them to underlying data elements.
  • Issue Resolution: Identify and resolve gaps and issues between different data elements in the pipeline/process.
  • Automation & Streamlining: Automate and streamline the delivery of reports and alerts.
  • Documentation: Document reports, definitions, tasks due, escalate issues, and communicate progress.
  • Standard Practices: Work with the team and other developers to establish standard practices.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Identify data dependencies across business units and set up necessary controls.
  • Relationship Building: Maintain strong relationships between different business units to facilitate collaboration.
  • Additional Support: Assist with other analysis, development, and QA tasks as needed.


Minimum Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Data Analysis & SQL: 5+ years of experience analyzing data and writing queries/stored procedures in SQL Server.
  • Power BI Reporting: 3+ years of experience building reports and dashboards in Power BI.
  • Excel Reporting: 1+ years of experience building reports in Excel.
  • Team Management: 2+ years of experience managing a team of data analysts or developers.
  • Analytical Skills: Ability to quickly grasp and articulate dependencies between processes and data.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong analytical skills with a keen eye for detail.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Project Management: Ability to take initiative and manage multiple concurrent projects efficiently.


Preferred Experience:

  • Healthcare RCM Data: Experience with Healthcare Revenue Cycle Management data is highly desired.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Fast-paced Environment: Experience working in a fast-paced environment is advantageous.
