GL Accountant

The GL Accountant is responsible for fixed assets, daily cash reports, daily GL balancing; verifying and balancing bank deposits, and maintaining daily cash receipts journal. Prepare and enter month end GL balance reports. Maintain monthly in-depth spreadsheets for sales and use tax reporting. Uploads and audits monthly and quarterly state sales and use tax reports to Deloitte. Responsible for collecting and computing financial information to submit to our corporate office monthly.

Requirements

• Manage and report all cash activities on a daily and monthly basis. Responsible for producing weekly cash forecast and monthly cash reconciliation.
• Facilitates AR process with internal and external contacts.
• Submits appropriate paperwork for monthly sales and use tax returns to various states.
• Maintain CAR and fixed asset reporting.
• Review AR and AP accounts for accuracy. Works with our intercompany companies to balance accounts.
• Record journal entries into database and ensure supporting documentation is attached.
• Perform various month end reconciliations and work to resolve any discrepancies.
• Organize and lead the quarterly balance sheet reviews.
• Assist with the organization of the quarterly balance sheet reviews.
• Perform required financial reviews as requested by individual states for renewal of contract licenses.
• Perform and manage monthly closing and assist with year-end closing.
• Prepare ad hoc financial analysis as requested.
• Maintain a thorough understanding of financial reporting and general ledger structure.
• Apply proper accounting methods, policies, and principles.
• Support payroll and project analyst positions with applicable general ledger information.
• Support other Accountants in the Shared Services Division.

• Education: Bachelor's degree
• Experience: 3-5 years' experience
• Computer Skills: Microsoft Word, Excel, & Lotus Note
