Job Description Summary
The Finance System Analyst will be responsible for managing system configuration, design, and support requests related to all financials modules at Sporting KC. This role will be a key resource for maximizing the Accounting, Payroll, Finance, and Procurement team(s) utilization of the system by translating business needs into best-practice solutions.

Job Description

Essential Functions
  • Create and maintain spend categories, revenue categories, and custom work tags in the system financials.
  • Create and manage account posting rules for all operational transaction types.
  • Act as a project manager with consultants for larger system integrations.
  • Lead or assist in planning system training sessions on configuration, reporting, or other subject areas as needed.
  • Leverage current system functionality for new, creative, time-saving initiatives.
  • Stay current on new system developments and functionality.
    Contribute to the development of a system Financials roadmap.
  • Collaborate with the system financial community on best practices.
  • Improves financial status by analyzing results; monitoring variances; identifying trends; recommending actions to management.
  • Assist in financial modeling and forecasting.
  • Performs monthly and as directed financial and operational analysis
  • Develop, implement, and maintain custom validations in the system Financials.
Qualifications

  • BA in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Five years of experience in a traditional accounting or finance role preferred.
  • Three years of experience with system Financials.
  • Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP principles.
  • Ability to think abstractly and creatively.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and multi-tasking skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to proactively identify and conceive of changes/developments needed.
Personal Attributes
  • Proven experience in system administration and configuration.
  • Strong project management skills, including experience leading system implementations and upgrades.
  • Familiarity with integration tools and techniques.
  • Ability to develop and execute test plans for system changes and enhancements.
  • Knowledge of compliance and data security best practices.
    Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to system improvements.
  • Experience with change management and user training programs.
