Position Summary

The position of Sr. Finance Analyst Charging Global Strength reports to the Charging Sr. Finance Manager and is located at the Propulsion Technical Center (PTC) in Auburn Hills, MI. Primary responsibilities will focus on supporting the Global Strength for Charging Business in Morse Systems.

The ideal candidate thrives in fast-paced environments that include challenging and multi-faceted assignments. The Sr. Finance Analyst will also proactively create opportunities for improvement in partnerships and in business processes. Day-to-day, you will need to remain agile, objective, and positive as you support business partners.

This is a service-oriented role which involves continuous partnership with internal customers. You will prepare accurate reporting and consolidation of financial and related data for the Morse Charging Global Strength Reporting Unit (RU). You will also create financial analyses to support critical business decisions including resource allocation, investments, and execution of Global Strength synergies.

Key Responsibilities

Responsible for General Ledger activity in SAP, including preparing and posting monthly/quarterly journal entries, special accruals, depreciation, settling internal orders and running reports.
Prepare and maintain OneStream upload file for the Reporting Unit (RU) with SAP/Excel actual data and TM1/Excel forecast data, including all supplemental schedules.
Work closely with other Reporting Unit Finance teams, as well as Corporate Headquarters, to settle intercompany variances.
Prepare annual state, federal and fixed asset tax packages.
Prepare Balance Sheet account reconciliations, including analyzing and resolving any variances.
Prepare actual and forecast summary reports and schedules for presentation to various functions.
Oversee maintenance of fixed asset financials, including creation of project numbers and budgets in SAP, reporting of actual project spend, capitalizing, transferring, and disposing of assets.
Implement and continually monitor business controls to ensure BW policies and financial goals are met.
Design and prepare various ad hoc analyses and reports and provide input to Sr. Finance Manager and various senior leaders in the Business Unit.
Support the preparation of annual Budget and Long-Range Plan for the Charging Global Strength Reporting Unit
Drive consistent financial practices and efficiencies for the Group. Implement and continually monitor business controls to ensure BW policies and financial goals are met.
Liaise between plants and Internal/External audit to ensure Group audits are executed effectively and efficiently.
Create and assist in the review of Appropriation Requests by advising on content and business case viability.
Lead special assignments/projects as required.

Job Requirements And Qualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE (Minimum Qualifications)

Bachelors Degree in accounting or finance
Masters Degree a plus
CPA or CMA a plus
5 plus years of experience in related field, with increasing responsibility
Experience with Microsoft Excel & Accounting required
SAP or similar general ledger experience required
Experience with OneStream a plus
Quoting/forecasting/std costing experience
Strong understanding of business controls
Strong analytical/problem solving and decision-making skills
Strong capability to assess / implement business processes
Ability to manage multiple assignments and take on new responsibilities
Ability to deal with ambiguity in a fast-paced business environment
Strong interpersonal skills and can build and lead cross-functional teams as needed
Excellent communications skills
Proactive approach to solving and advising on business challenges
Leverage prior experiences to provide recommendations and options for process improvements
Ability to function independently with minimal supervision
