Job Description:
The University of Florida is seeking a dedicated individual to join our UF Online OneStop team as an Admissions Officer I. In this role, you will be responsible for the timely review of applications and credentials, determining residency classification for tuition purposes, and maintaining effective communication with applicants and academic departments.
Key responsibilities include:
Application Review
- Process UF Online admissions applications, considering varying requirements for each applicant level.
- Calculate high school and college GPA, excluding non-transferable coursework as needed.
- Evaluate applicant performance in prerequisite coursework to meet admission criteria.
- Utilize professional judgment to identify and escalate issues with academic performance.
- Conduct criteria-based and holistic reviews of academic records, directly rendering admissions decisions for pre-approved programs.
- Participate in admission decision committees as needed.
- Maintain thorough knowledge of majors, degrees, and program levels.
- Review and evaluate submitted documentation to ensure file completeness.
- Determine residency classifications for tuition purposes based on immigration documents and state regulations.
- Develop comprehensive knowledge of admission requirements for all entry levels.
- Ensure accurate progression of completed files throughout the admission process.
- Review applications with foreign credentials and determine required supplemental documents.
- Evaluate the need for English language proficiency demonstration.
- Communicate requirements to applicants and facilitate file completion.
- Manage application data in Slate and integrate it into Campus Solutions, ensuring accurate records.
- Provide support to OneStop staff with escalated admissions-related inquiries.
- Participate in cross-functional events, Q&A sessions, and the creation of reference materials for staff training.
- Perform other duties as directed by the supervisor and assist in other office sections as needed.
Expected Salary:
$43,888 annually

Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's degree; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of methods of compiling, organizing, and analyzing data.
- Ability to establish work priorities, coordinate the timely completion of work assignments, strong organizational skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience with customer service and public relations
- Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work and training assignments
- Experience with Slate and/or PeopleSoft Campus Solutions
