About Our Client:
Our client is a leading Private Equity firm with a distinguished history of managing investments on behalf of institutional investors. They are dedicated to excellence, integrity, and innovation, consistently delivering exceptional results for their investors.
Job Summary:
The Accounting Manager will oversee the financial reporting, accounting operations, and compliance functions for private equity funds and portfolio companies. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in private equity or investment management accounting, a deep understanding of GAAP, a CPA, and a proven track record of managing a team.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting:
Prepare and review quarterly and annual financial statements for private equity funds and portfolio companies.
Ensure timely and accurate reporting in compliance with GAAP and other regulatory requirements.
Coordinate with external auditors for annual audits and manage audit processes.
Accounting Operations:
Oversee day-to-day accounting functions, including general ledger maintenance, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll.
Manage the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring all financial transactions are accurately recorded and reported.
Implement and maintain robust accounting systems and controls.
Compliance and Regulatory:
Ensure compliance with all relevant tax laws and regulations.
Prepare and file all required regulatory and tax filings in a timely manner.
Monitor changes in accounting standards and regulations and assess their impact on the company.
Team Management:
Lead, mentor, and develop a team of accounting professionals.
Foster a collaborative and high-performance culture within the accounting team.
Conduct performance reviews and provide ongoing feedback and development opportunities.
Investor Relations:
Assist in the preparation of investor reports and presentations.
Respond to investor inquiries and provide financial information as needed.
Support fundraising activities and due diligence processes.
Process Improvement:
Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the accounting function.
Develop and document standard operating procedures and internal controls.
Leverage technology to automate and streamline accounting processes.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or equivalent certification preferred.
Minimum of 5-7 years of accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a management role within the private equity or investment management industry.
In-depth knowledge of GAAP and private equity accounting standards.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Excellent leadership and team management abilities.
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite) and advanced Excel skills.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
