Business Analyst I - District Office
Essential Job Functions:

Responsible for the gathering of business requirements.

Works with the college campuses and departments to ensure that business requirements for back and front office processes, transactional systems, website, and data are being met. Assists user groups in representing their business and system requirements to ITS.

Analyzes business processes and makes recommendations for process best practice. Analyzes regulatory rules and issues to identify impact on current operations.
Performs business process modeling to assist with the recommendation and implementation of new functionality and system improvements. Makes suggestions based on current and emerging technologies, on methods to reduce costs, improve performance and availability, and reduce administration time for information systems.
Develops and documents functional and technical specifications that are consistent with user requirements. Documents and communicates issues related to customization and interface requirements. This includes preparing test scripts/test plans for functional processing during system development and quality assurance testing.
Collaborates with the Enterprise Development team to configure, modify and implement functional and technical requirements in the Banner ERP environment (Banner and other integrated solutions). Works collaboratively with clients, vendors and other ITS staff to ensure that applications within the scope of ITS responsibility that are integrated to the Banner ERP and their interfaces are operational.
Ensures quality assurance processes are followed, including service levels as outlined in the ITS Service Level Agreement and change control procedures.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Balance between customer service, technical skills, and an ability to effectively and respectfully interact with customers at any level within an organization required.
Must possess demonstrable knowledge of ERPs, application development, information systems and relational databases.
Ability to work well with others and to demonstrate an organized, excellent quality of work with little or no supervision is required.
Must be proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams.
Must have excellent verbal, written communication, presentation, and documentation skills.
Ability to negotiate and build consensus among client and IT stakeholders.
Must possess a strong understanding of the software development lifecycle to allow for clear discussion of the technical details of business process improvement projects with developers assigned to those projects.
Project management skills preferred.
Ability to analyze processes and make sound recommendations based on the SJCD environment.
Required Education:

Associate's Degree from an accredited institution.
Preferred Education:

Bachelor's Degree or above in Information Technology, Computer Science, or Computer Information Systems from an accredited institution preferred.
Required Experience:

Minimum two (2) years of related IT work experience required.
Experience in business process mapping required.
Experience in ERP maintenance required.
Experience in systems testing required.
Preferred Experience:

Experience in Higher Education preferred.
Thorough understanding of processes and controls associated with ERP systems preferred.
ERP implementation experience preferred.
Ellucian's Banner ERP experience preferred.
Experience using Microsoft Visio preferred.
Experience developing Microsoft Power BI Dashboards/Reports preferred.
Experience developing online forms preferred.
Preferred Licenses/Certifications
