The Staff Accountant is responsible for the financial reporting and maintenance of financial statements, reports, and schedules for the Inland Property Management and Leasing Group. This position requires strong attention to detail and analytical skills and will work closely with the Controller, accounting team, and various departments within the organization. CORE RESPONSIBILITIES: Demonstrates highest standards of personal and professional integrity, adheres to company’s policies and procedures, and complies with applicable laws, government rules, and regulations. Ensures that all system-related transactions are made in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles. Complete the reconciliation of the various bank accounts in a timely manner throughout the month and at month-end. Assist other members of the accounting team in the reconciliation process. Research, resolve, and clear accounting entries and transactions. Handle monthly, quarterly, and annual closings. Process journal entries. Help with Sales Tax processing and licenses maintenance for the various entities managed. Responsible for the accounting of 3rd Party Managed properties, including report submission, reconciliation of data feed, account reviews, and corrections. Monitors and reviews accounting and related system reports for accuracy and completeness. Analyzes revenue and expenditure trends. Prepare with budget preparation. Analyze data to support business decision-making. Generate financial statements and month-end reports. Assist customers with accounting inquiries and reporting requests. Report to Controller on Accounting processes. QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum 2 years of accounting experience and bank reconciliations. Education: This position requires a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance. Experience and Skills: This position requires 2+ years in professional-level accounting work. Strong written and verbal communication. Ability to work independently and exercise proper judgment. Excellent attention to detail. Strong analytical skills. Good problem-solving and time management skills. Highly organized and detail-oriented. Proficiency in Excel, Adobe, and Word.
