Defense Accounting Analyst

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- The Defense Accounting Analyst for corporate programs, and the Amphibious and Autonomous lines plays a vital role in guiding the team through key financial decisions.
- Reconciling sub-ledger to general ledger account balances.
- Provide on-going reconciliation of project financial data.
- Prepare month end journal entries based on deep understanding and movements on the accounts.
- Support month-end and year-end close process.
- Prepare monthly / quarterly / annual BS reconciliations in conjunction with a period close.
- Prepare concise and accurate month end commentary vs. plan on supported product lines.
- Support the Program team in developing the year forecast, maintaining their Strategic Plan, and Medium term plan, while maintaining a strong understanding of both the opportunities and threats.
- Support the development and maintenance of long term project and contract profit plans for the Handling Systems and Amphibious and Autonomous product lines.
- Ensure adherence to accounting policies, internal controls, company policies, local operating procedures and contract requirements.
- Contribute to business wide control environment and process improvements.
- Ensure Legal, statutory & management financial requirements are completed for the naval business.
- Primary interfaces with Finance, Program Management.
- The span of this role will cover Naval Programs in Walpole MA.
- The role will support IPT leads and the program team who are based in Walpole MA (where the role will be located).
- This role will largely interface with management at the Defense Leadership Team (DLT) -4 level.
- PWC and Government Audit agencies.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- SAP experience preferred.
- Experience as a Senior Accountant preferred.
