As the RN Emergency Department Manager, you will be a vital component of a 200+ bed facility that offers a wide variety of care such as surgical services, emergency care, family medicine, pediatrics, behavioral health, and so much more This hospital is part of a greater health system that has multiple locations and facilities in the NYC area, offering lots of opportunity for professional growth. With an experienced Emergency Services Nursing support staff working under them, the ED Nurse Manager will have the proper resources necessary to ensure that the Emergency Department is operating at the highest level and all goals of the department are being met. The ED Nurse Manager will report directly to the Director of Emergency Services and will collaborate with them on unit goals and initiatives. Key Responsibilities: Provide leadership and guidance to nursing staff within the emergency department. Coordinate and supervise daily operations, including patient flow, staffing assignments, and resource management. Collaborate with physicians, nurse practitioners, and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes. Implement and enforce policies, procedures, and protocols to maintain compliance with regulatory standards and ensure quality care. Monitor and evaluate departmental performance metrics, such as patient satisfaction and clinical outcomes, and implement improvements as necessary. Participate in recruitment, training, and professional development of nursing staff. Foster a collaborative and supportive work environment that promotes teamwork and professional growth. Qualifications: Registered Nurse (RN) license in New York. Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) required; Master's degree in Nursing or related field preferred. Minimum of 5 years of clinical experience in an emergency department setting. Proven leadership experience with strong managerial and organizational skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively with diverse stakeholders. Demonstrated ability to make independent decisions, problem-solve, and prioritize workload in a fast-paced environment. Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
