Diversity is key and integral to MxD culture, as different backgrounds, thoughts, and ideas are critical to success. + Position Overview MxD is seeking an experienced, hands-on Vice President for Finance and Business Operations (VP). The VP is an integral member of the senior leadership team and serves as the chief business and financial officer, reporting directly to the CEO. In this role, you will provide strategic leadership to the organization, managing complex finance transactions, the budget management process, and guide ongoing change management processes. Functions reporting to this position include finance, people and culture, business operations, and legal. + Position Responsibilities Develop and lead the execution of strategy for respective portfolio of functions. Work across the organization to efficiently develop budget proposals, provide financial information, and manage contract/grant compliance and reporting. Serve as the executive liaison to the board of directors audit committee. Ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial operations including accounts payable and receivable functions, purchasing, financial reporting, and grants administration. Improve administrative and operational accounting services such as grants management and reporting, payroll, accounts payable, and purchasing. Oversee all aspects of people & culture (e.g., employee relations, recruiting, benefits, training) Lead business operations, comprising contracts, compliance, proposal management, corporate events, and facility. Continuously measure and evaluate organizational performance and make changes as necessary. Upgrade and implement an appropriate system of policies, internal controls, accounting standards, and procedures. Promote a culture of high performance and continuous improvement that values learning and a commitment to quality. Provide analytical support to internal management team including development of internal management reporting capabilities. + Position Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, required. MBA or advanced financial-related degree, preferred Minimum 15 years of leadership experience Certified Public Accountant license, preferred Excellent knowledge of data analysis, risk management and forecasting methods Hands-on experience with accounting and financial management software (Deltek preferred) Non-profit and government grant experience, preferred Demonstrated ability leading, collaborating with, and developing cross functional and diverse teams Excellent leadership skills, with steadfast resolve and personal integrity Strong interpersonal and presentation skills; excellent analytical and problem-solving skills along with excellent communication and negotiation skills Ability to interface at the executive levels of MxD and MxD’s government, industry, and academic partners Strong attention to detail and problem solving skills Hands-on, team-oriented, and committed to the advancement of manufacturing technologies in the U.S. Expert problem-solver, creative and constructive thinker Ability and desire to work in a highly dynamic environment Must be available to work onsite on an as-needed basis to support MxD personnel and for other onsite events Travel 10% How to Apply Apply online at mxdusa.org/careers by clicking on the link to the position posting and submitting your resume with a cover letter explaining why you would be a great fit for this role and MxD. MxD partners with ABM transportation to provide free shuttle service from various public transit stops around the Downtown Chicago area to MxD. Also, MxD has free parking available for employees.
