Position Summary:
The Director of Nursing, Womens Services is responsible for the oversight of the hospitals family birth center, including post-partum, labor and delivery, neonatal intensive care unit, and the clinical operations of the Womens Specialty Clinic. Reporting to the Chief Nursing Officer, the position is responsible for overall leadership, daily management, and direction for the service line providing strategic direction and leadership. Serves as a resource to manage daily operations of clinical staffing for the Family Birth Center and NICU, with the expectation of assisting leaders with planning, directing, organizing, monitoring and staffing the department subject to policies, budgets, objectives and directives mandated by regulatory agencies, and the health system administrative team. Develops and implements patient care policies that are based on evidence and best practice standards and comply with regulatory requirements. As new nursing knowledge and innovations in practice advance, leads their application into practice and ensures standardized implementation across the department by working closely and in collaboration with other department nurse leaders and educators.
Minimum Qualifications:
Masters in Nursing; other combinations of relevant education and experience may be considered.
Montana Licensure (Registered Nurse)
American Heart Association BLS
Neonatal Resuscitation Program Provider Certificate
Electronic Fetal Monitoring Series Certificate of Completion
Five (5) years of related experience
Five (5) years of healthcare leadership experience
Preferred:
Masters degree in nursing or related field
Preferred:
Certification in Inpatient OB and C-EFM through NCC
Preferred:
Certification in Nursing Leadership (AONE or ANCC) or relevant leadership fellowship
Essential Job Functions:
In addition to the essential functions of the job listed below, employees must have on-time completion of all required education as assigned per DNV requirements, Bozeman Health policy, and other registry requirements.
Overall departmental responsibility 24/7 for the Family Birth Center and NICU
Assists with operations to ensure the provision of comprehensive departmental services in compliance with all regulatory agencies and hospital requirements.
Ensures a collaborative departmental approach to operational planning, care/service design and development of organizational policies, which reflect the mission of the organization.
Coordinates and assists with oversight of departmental services. Continuously assesses, measures and improves departmental performance.
Demonstrates responsible management of all departmental resources.
Demonstrates clinical/technical and managerial competency.
Leads, teaches, inspires, helps and consistently demonstrates hospital behavioral standards
Mentors staff to grow and reach their highest potential
Implements strategies to improve employee engagement
Implements strategies to improve HCAHPS and patient experience
Supports growth within the service line by engaging the community, providers and stakeholders

Physical Requirements
Lifting, Pushing, and Pulling:
Support 50 pounds of weight (patient, assist with bedside needs, etc.) Lift 50 pounds (pick up a child, transfer a patient, etc.) Carry equipment/supplies. Use upper body strength (CPR, physically restrain patient, etc.)
Extended Hours:
The role may involve working for extended periods, requiring sitting, walking, or standing for eight or more hours daily.
Flexible Schedule:
The position may necessitate working beyond a standard 40-hour workweek, including weekends and after-hours shifts.
On-Call Availability:
On-call work may be required to respond to organizational and patient needs promptly.
Effective Communication:
Proficient in effective communication, both in person and through various technologies.
Handling Challenging Situations:
The role may involve dealing with upset individuals, requiring the ability to de-escalate situations and work effectively with frustrated patients or families.
