The Corporate Controller will work closely with the CFO and business office team to execute the accounting function across all dealerships. Compensation: $250K - $300K (base+bonus)

Financial Reporting:
- Prepare and oversee the preparation of monthly and annual financial statements (income statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements), ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
- Ensure accuracy and compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and other regulatory requirements.
- Ensure financial statements are completed monthly according to dealership guidelines and the manufacturer's format and time frame.
- Develop and maintain timely and accurate financial statements and reports that are appropriate for the users and in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
- Oversee all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems, ensuring compliance with appropriate GAAP standards and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain internal control safeguards for the receipt of revenue, costs, budgets, and actual expenditures.
- Maintain industry best practices for optimizing working capital and the conversion of receivables into cash.
- Payroll Oversight: Manage and optimize payroll processes for dealership staff.
- Develop and maintain internal controls to safeguard financial assets of the organization.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
- Coordinate audits and proper filing of tax returns.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting team, managing work allocation, training, problem resolution, performance evaluation, and the building of an effective team dynamic.
- Provide leadership in strengthening internal communications with staff at all levels throughout the organization; create and promote a positive and supportive work environment.
- Provide financial analysis tools to evaluate company ventures or special projects, programs, capital expenditures, products costing, etc., when necessary.
- Assist the CFO in developing and managing financial policies and procedures.
- Participate in the development of the organization's plans and programs as a strategic partner.
- Oversee and manage all accounting system upgrades and implementations.
- Evaluate and improve accounting processes to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
- Ensure that record-keeping meets the requirements of auditors and government agencies.
- Cross-Functional Coordination: Collaborate with other departments (sales, service, etc.) to align financial goals.
- Communication: Regularly report the financial condition of the total dealership to the dealer/general manager.
- Maintains a professional appearance.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or CMA certification is required.
- Experience: A minimum of 7-10 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3-5 years in a management role. Automotive retail industry experience highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting.
- Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Excellent analytical, reasoning, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Superior communication and interpersonal skills.
Salary Description
