Senior Property Accountant.

This position is responsible for overseeing the accounting function for the property and provides a wide variety of Accounting services. Financial Statement Preparation, Review, and Analysis : Responsible for the entire income audit function. Ensures the integrity of all revenue sources as reported through the various property management systems. Monthly preparation and review of balance sheet and profit and loss accounts and accountable for their accuracy. Reconciles control accounts to subsidiary documentation. Through review and analysis, accountable for creating general ledger adjusting journal entries at month-end and publishes financial statements and budget variance reports for internal use. Preparation of monthly variance analysis of Financial Statements to Budget and Prior Year. Financial Controls : Consistently monitors all controls to minimize the risk of misappropriation of funds or assets on the property. Responsible for accounts payable, accounts receivable, and all outlets accounting procedures. Cost Control:

Assists all departments in maximizing efficiencies. Assists in identifying maximization of revenue for the hotel and restaurant. Assists department managers in effectively managing labor costs, follows CSM procurement guidelines, and applies good business judgment. Cash Flow Management:

Oversees accounts receivable for the property. Ensures timely billing and collection of accounts. Operational Procedures:

Provides leadership support in maintaining established controls and standard procedures. Serves as a resource for all management and hourly staff. Customer Service:

Maintains relationship with Corporate, Field and, Accounting staff to address information reporting needs. Prepares accounting schedules routinely and as requested by internal management or as needed for external reporting requirements Organizational Management:

Applies knowledge of accounting to evaluate established controls and standardized procedures, identifies opportunities for improvements and alternatives to improve efficiencies within the department, and assists in developing and making recommendations to management when appropriate. Strategic Partnership:

Expected to provide input and strategic solutions to assist business partners in driving revenue, profit, and quality. Training:

Analyzes quality issues, identifies training needs, and ensures implementation to improve results. Utilizes available resources and adheres to CSM training policies. Safety/Risk Management : Ensures a clean and safe work environment. Self/Workload Management:

Responsible for effective self/workload management. Demonstrates clear communication. Promotes collaboration and a positive, professional work environment. Adheres to CSM Standard Operating Procedures. People Management:

Responsible for the effective management of hourly staff including hiring decisions, performance expectations, training initiatives and rewards/recognition. Education:

Associate's degree and 4-6 years of experience, or equivalent combination of training and experience. Experience/Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: 3+ years of progressive accounting experience. Must possess comprehensive knowledge of accounting principles Proficient in MS Excel and MS Word. Strong preference for experience in a hospitality environment. Must have strong organizational & communication skills and a solid business focus with a strong emphasis on customer service. Prefer knowledge of current software applications used by the CSM PC network (Yardi accounting software and TM1). Ability to multitask and see responsibilities to completion under strict deadlines. Physical Requirements:

Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 20 pounds on an occasional basis.
