Job Summary

The position facilitates the student work experience process including career navigation, success coaching, assessment of talents and skills, and connection with employers.

**This is a grant-funded position.

Job Duties:
  • Provides students information about career planning and employment opportunities and coaches students through the recruiting process.
  • Counsels and advises students and recent alumni individually and in groups about career exploration, self-assessment, and career decisions. This includes individualized plans for exploration, engagement, and employment with integration of Talent and Skill interest assessment into student coaching process (You Science).
  • Serve as advisor and success coach to apprenticeship and work-based learning students as well as employer sponsored enrollment programs such as Amazon Career Choice.
  • Schedules logistics and secures resources for on-campus recruiting activities.
  • Manage student software experience such as Handshake.
  • Delivers presentations and workshops for academic departments and student organizations to increase student interest in employee recruiting programs.
  • Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent and 3 years experience
  • Presentation and training of adult skills, organization and planning, project management.
  • Must be able to work independently.
  • Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  • Excellent organizational skills; high attention to detail; independent; self-motivated; able to work in a fast-paced, changing environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; ability to communicate with many individuals at all levels throughout the internal college environment and external business and community partners, representing himself/herself professionally and courteously.
  • Ability to communicate clearly verbally and, in writing.
  • Ability to multi-task, work under deadlines, and prioritize projects to meet deadlines with high levels of efficiency and accuracy.
  • Must have proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office (Excel, Forms, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, and Word).
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree or equivalent and 5 years experience
  • Experience in and understanding of working with students from diverse populations is preferred.
  • Experience working at the community college level is preferred.
