Summary: The Manager Engineering Test Lab will oversee all activities within the Powin Tualatin test lab and lead the engineering technician team, ensuring efficient operations and adherence to safety protocols. The position will be responsible for overseeing and reporting on the management of test assets and coordination with the Facilities team for test equipment purchases and installation, as well as prioritizing, tracking and assignments of lab resources. The test lab supports Reliability, Hardware Test, Lab asset maintenance, Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and Failure Analysis (FA) activities from respective groups. The Manager Engineering Test Lab will be involved in creating, reviewing, and presenting test plans and reports to internal and/or external stakeholders as well as collaborating with Quality, Service, Repair, and Manufacturing groups to establish data reporting that supports engineering, reliability and quality requirements. Job Details: Supervise a team of technicians, providing guidance and support to ensure tasks are completed accurately and efficiently Develop and implement test procedures and protocols in accordance with project requirements and industry standards Coordinate test schedules to meet project deadlines and prioritize testing activities based on project urgency and resource availability Maintain and calibrate test equipment to ensure accurate and reliable results, coordinating repairs and servicing as needed Maintain ownership of the install and implementation of new test equipment, including planning, coordination and execution of the process from start to finish Review test data and reports to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with project specifications Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including design engineers, project managers, and quality assurance (QA) personnel, to address testing requirements and resolve issues Supervise lab technician team, including assistance with coordination of maintenance of all lab infrastructure, tools and equipment Manage facility personnel, including various positions like laborers and electricians, ensuring coordination with global facility leadership Identify opportunities for process improvement and optimization within the test laboratory, implementing best practices to enhance efficiency and effectiveness Ensure compliance with safety regulations and protocols, conducting regular safety inspections and promoting a culture of safety awareness among laboratory staff Manage inventory of test materials and supplies, ordering replenishments as needed and optimizing inventory levels to minimize waste and cost Maintain awareness of industry developments and emerging technologies relevant to test laboratory operations, recommending advancements and innovations to enhance capabilities Develop and maintain weekly dashboard and reporting for team tasks using Jira or other semi-automated method Develop and maintain key performance indicators (KPI’s) for the test group to track progress and find areas for improvement to processes and methods Coordinate with international teams for test execution Performs other duties as assigned Qualifications: Bachelor’s in Engineering or management field, or equivalent relevant experience 3-5 years’ experience in managing a test lab or similar facility Strong technical background in test methodologies, instrumentation, and equipment Proficiency in interpreting engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the proven ability to motivate staff to achieve goals Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey technical information across levels and functions clearly and concisely Detail-oriented approach with a focus on accuracy and precision in test procedures and data analysis Demonstrated problem-solving abilities and a proactive attitude towards addressing challenges Familiarity with relevant industry standards and regulations governing product testing and validation Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment Commitment to safety, with a thorough understanding of safety protocols and procedures applicable to laboratory operations Proficiency in MS Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) Ability to work flexible hours as needed to support international teams Limited travel requirements #J-18808-Ljbffr
