**Title:** SQL Server Database Architect (Not a straight DBA but not a Data Architect

Database Architect is what we need)
**Location:** 100% Remote (EST Hours)
**Duration:** 4-6 Months (could go longer if they have interest in future project work but the initial need is to set up the entire system/network/storage for the SQL Server database/system).
This is an Architect Level, and the SQL Server DBA will be setting up the environment; including the system, setting up the alerts, configuring the dashboards and be in charge of network/storage connectors. This is not a Senior DBA who monitors existing database and systems; but someone who can com into an organization and build the systems/network/storage systems that the SQL Databases will sit on. Someone who will create and configure the dashboards for monitoring; not simply a DBA monitoring said systems. This individual would have strong OS understanding and able to set up the environment from scratch.
* 10+ years of SQL Server Database Administrator
* Expertise on SQL Compression and Dashboard creation/configuration.
* Strong Experience with SQL Controllers such as Pvscsi and nvme-f.
* Self-motivated for excellence
* Proven SQL development history for Database Administration needs
+ Able to develop scripts for custom alerts and or PowerShell scripting for automation
+ Knows how to generate reports for monitoring index/statistic maintenance including for clustered columnstore indexes
* Solid foundational knowledge to architect new databases for best performance
+ Given a database size, able to determine Windows OS/storage layout requirements

e.g. 1 mount for all database files or creating separate drives for each database file, etc.
+ Able to use performance monitoring to fine tune sql server settings
+ Up-to-date on best practices for database security
* Experience and know-how for monitoring and effectively performance tuning queries
+ Able to effectively use DMVs to troubleshoot queries and suggest options for achieving goals
+ Able to document repeatable steps for co-workers to follow to help them learn to perform same duties
* Willing to learn 3 rd

party vendor application as it relates to database support
* Willing to participate in 24x7 on call rotation support
