Description
Summary
Responsible for the detailed coordination of providing all RESPA TILA early disclosures and initial set up of all mortgage loan application files. Loan Document Specialists are responsible for understanding TRID rules and gaining a clear understanding of our products to ensure the program disclosures are accurate and complete.
Responsibilities
- Ordering all necessary mortgage verification documents to include but is not limited to:
- Initial Disclosing of all mortgage loan files to include all program disclosures in compliance with TILA - RESPA and TRID.
- Perform the task of re-disclosing any mortgage loan subsequent to a legitimate change of circumstance, including the Closing Disclosure.
- Ordering the initial set up documentation as follows: VOE's, 4506T, all pertinent government and agency required verification forms.
- Processing and creation of retention files for cancelled applications.
- Training of new employees on processes and procedures.
- Testing of new division systems, network applications and loan programs to confirm viability.
- Back-up responsibilities for the Appraisal Desk as needed.
Skills/Experience/Education
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous banking experience strongly, preferred.
- Knowledge of compliance and regulatory law (RESPA-TILA, and those related to mortgage lending), preferred.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Detail oriented with a strong focus on accuracy.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work in a fast-paced environment that changes quickly.
- Knowledge of personal computers including the Microsoft Office suite of products.
- Ability to travel if required to perform the essential job functions.
- Ability to work under stress and meet deadlines.
- Ability to read and interpret a document if required to perform the essential job functions.
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer may be required.
- Ability to lift/move/carry approximately 15 pounds if required to perform the essential job functions. If the employee is unable to lift/move/carry this weight and can be accommodated without causing the department/division any "undue hardship" then the employee must be accommodated; hence omitting lifting/moving/carrying as a physical requirement.
