This position is responsible for assisting the Director of Engineering & Quality and Quality Department by ensuring the manufacturing process meets customer requirements, verifying the proper documentation of processes performed, and brainstorming and implementing changes for a more consistent manufacturing process.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsible for assisting the Director of Engineering & Quality for functions pertaining to manufacturing quality as follows:

  • Lead and review internal audits
  • Assist in external audits
  • Assist in incorporation of specifications
  • Develop and monitor process control metrics
  • Generate quality instructions in support of manufacturing
  • Root Cause analysis & Preventive Action
  • Continual Improvement Initiatives
  • Issue and manage Internal & External Corrective Actions
  • Customer submittals, waivers/deviations
  • Customer and Supplier interface
  • Support Quality Management System (QMS) as required
  • Generate and update traveler templates
  • Generate and review Engineering Change Notices when required
  • Provide training and mentoring to new engineers
  • Perform contract review and provide input on customer quotations

KEY TRAITS & REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Degree in Metallurgy or Quality preferred
  • Minimum 3 years experience in Quality and Manufacturing environment in Forging or Heat Treat Industry preferred
  • Strong data analysis skills
  • Knowledge of statistical tools and analysis
  • Experience with metrology/inspection tools and methods preferred
  • Ability to operate in fast paced, stressful environment
  • High level of initiative and strong organizational skills
  • Effective communicator with strong interpersonal skills
  • Meets commitments with highest standards of ethics and integrity and maintain an excellent attendance record
  • Ability to multi- task and manage several complex issues simultaneously
  • Continuous improvement mindset
  • Knowledge of Aerospace and Specifications
  • Able to read and interpret Aerospace blueprints
  • Knowledge of quality processes in the Aerospace industry along with a working knowledge of ferrous and non-ferrous materials
  • Ability to lift 35 pounds
  • Basic computer skills (Word, Excel, Power Point, etc)

**Position is full time onsite - no remote work**
