Our Client, a leader in commercial real estate and facilities/asset management is seeking to add an Assistant Building Engineer to its team. This role will work in Billings, MT and works Wednesday - Saturday, 2pm - 12:30am. This is a contract role that pays $23 - 24 per hour.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilize trade skills such as carpentry, plumbing, electrical work, painting, roofing, HVAC, and more.
  • Perform preventive maintenance as per manufacturers specifications to prolong equipment life and reduce operational costs.
  • Maintain the professional appearance of the property, equipment, and common areas through housekeeping and upkeep.
  • Implement energy management programs to optimize system efficiency and minimize operating costs.
  • Inspect building systems (fire alarms, HVAC, plumbing) to ensure they meet environmental and client-prescribed conditions.
  • Assist in troubleshooting and repairing building systems and equipment including plumbing, kitchen equipment, roofs, drains, and HVAC.
  • Respond promptly to maintenance emergencies and coordinate additional assistance when required.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance and repair records as per company policies.
  • Conduct repairs on the building lighting system and perform welding, carpentry, furniture assembly, and locksmith tasks as needed.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in building maintenance or a related field.
  • Ability to comprehend and interpret instructions, memos, and safety regulations.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively interact with clients, colleagues, and supervisors.
  • Capability to handle common inquiries and complaints from clients and coworkers.
  • HVAC certification or experience is a plus.
