DescriptionMECHANICAL SUPERINTENDENT POSITION SUMMARY Okland is seeking an experienced and proactive Mechanical Superintendent to oversee the mechanical aspects of our construction projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical installations and a proven track record of successfully managing teams and ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget. This role is essential for maintaining high-quality standards, safety compliance, and effective communication among all project stakeholders. It supervises the architectural, engineering, bidding, contracting, building, and inspection from the beginning to the end of the project and specializes in concrete self-perform on a large commercial scale. Lead, mentor, and manage mechanical crews and subcontractors to ensure efficient project execution and performance. Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, identify potential issues, and implement corrective actions as needed. Work closely with project managers, engineers, and other trades to coordinate project activities and resolve conflicts. Develop and maintain project schedules, ensuring timely completion of mechanical installations. Implement quality assurance practices to ensure compliance with design documents and industry standards. Enforce safety protocols on-site, conducting safety meetings and ensuring all personnel are equipped with the necessary safety gear and training. Maintain accurate records of project activities, including daily reports, inspections, and change orders. Monitor project budgets, track costs, and assist in the preparation of cost forecasts and estimates. Address and resolve on-site issues promptly, facilitating communication between team members and stakeholders to keep the project on track. Serve as a point of contact for clients regarding mechanical work, addressing concerns and providing updates as necessary. Oversee the job closeout process, ensuring all mechanical systems are operational and documentation (including O&M manuals) is complete. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field preferred. 7+ years of experience in mechanical construction supervision or a related role. Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems. Familiarity with construction codes, safety regulations, and industry best practices. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIREMENTS Extensive knowledge of construction and maintenance practices, procedures, and applicable local, state, and federal building codes. Proficiency in skilled construction, maintenance, and repair tasks. Advanced understanding of construction scheduling and cost control. Ability to interact and communicate effectively with customers, vendors, and employees at all levels. Ability to effectively lead and manage teams. Thorough and attentive to details; extremely organized and able to prioritize and multitask. Ability to proactively plan for risks to meet or exceed deadlines. Ability to solve practical problems and work with limited standardization. Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism in the workplace. Strong computer skills; proficient in MS Excel, MS Word, and MS Outlook. The noise level in the work environment may range from moderate to loud. Will likely be required to operate a rough terrain forklift, and will spend long hours on their feet on uneven surfaces.
