The Arizona Supreme Court is seeking a qualified individual to serve as a Program and Policy Specialist.

This position is responsible for the development, maintenance, and expansion of access to justice initiatives, including the Arizona Lawyer Apprentice Program and other attorney admissions and legal service provider programs as needed. Performs highly responsible administrative program duties, coordinates with the State Bar of Arizona, manages public records requests and automation projects, drafts and tracks regulatory changes, and leads special projects while assisting in the statewide administration of the professions regulated by the Arizona Supreme Court. Other responsibilities include recruiting potential participants statewide, including employers and individuals deemed qualified to provide legal services under the program terms, monitoring program progress in each county in Arizona, and overseeing the implementation and maintenance of internal controls to measure the programs' performance and accountability, including writing reports required by the funding authority.

This is a grant-funded, contract position, may work up to 40 hours per week. This position may offer the ability to work remotely, based upon the department's business needs

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

The successful candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree in public administration, justice studies, education or a related field and at least five years of progressive experience in government, courts, or a regulatory environment. Relevant experience may substitute for the educational requirements.

The successful candidate will possess strong verbal and written communication skills, with the demonstrated ability to work effectively, professionally, and respectfully to develop consensus on complex issues with executive leadership. Demonstrated ability to consistently exercise independent initiative and judgment on complex issues. Strong analytical skills, and the ability to work effectively, accurately, and independently to complete multiple detailed tasks, projects, and assignments.

The preferred candidate will have legal education experience, such as a Master's degree in legal studies, or a juris doctorate.

Travel level: up to 25%
