The Web Development Supervisor is accountable for managing and coordinating web resources and processes to deliver software products while participating in defining the strategy for the web development team. The Web Development Supervisors role extends throughout the Technology Department to ensure that all the goals set by management are achieved in the most cost efficient and effective manner with adherence to time, cost, regulatory and quality parameters.

ACCOUNTABILITIES/JOB DUTIES:

  • Works together with Internal and External Customers to plan and execute tasks and requests by ensuring the teams have appropriate product and technical specifications, direction, and resources to deliver products effectively by establishing realistic estimates for timelines while ensuring the requests remain on target to meet deadlines.
  • Works closely with all the Product Departments and Business Analysts for understanding the systems functional and non-functional requirements.
  • Lead and establish priorities for, and manage subsequently, the day-to-day work of the Web developers.
  • Supervise a team of web professionals by developing effective training procedures, appropriate task assignments, positive customer experiences and top-quality control processes.
  • Aim to meet all project goals within the specified time and budget of the client and the organization; adjust practices to reflect cost saving measures.
  • Determine and manage the technical infrastructure/frameworks to deliver robust, secure, and reliable web applications and services.
  • Advise on and plan for future developments, including preparation of requirements specifications.
  • Provide professional support and work pro-actively with all Web development staff.
  • Provide advice and guidance on web issues across the organization, including working closely with all Web development staff.
  • Demonstrates leadership abilities to our clients with the deployment of software upgrades, enhancements and fixes that are coordinated based on release schedules.
  • Provides a software web development plan that meets the future needs of our clients and markets, based on the state-of-the-art technologies.
  • Evolves the existing software system applications and architecture in various areas as needed.
  • Conducts daily SQA meetings to ensure all testing is on track with clearly defined plans for a successful execution.
  • Assists web developers to resolve both technical problems as well as human resources issues.
  • Monitors individual employees performance.
  • Provides leadership and guidance to coach, motivate, and lead team members to their optimum performance levels and career development.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related field desired.
  • Minimum of 3 years of management/leadership experience in a software development organization is required.
  • Strong understanding of the software development cycle.
  • Strong leadership, project management skills, time management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Willingness to address all current software environments and technical issues.
  • High command of verbal and written English.
  • Ability to apply sound judgment in successful task planning and execution.
  • Communicates with the highest standards of professionalism.
  • Self-motivated, team player, action and results oriented.
  • Well organized, excellent communication and reporting skills.
  • Ability to successfully work under tight project deadlines.
  • Ability to embrace technical challenges within a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving, consulting and coaching skills.
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective relationship, credibility and personal networks between Technology and Business Units of the organization.
