Fairview Health Services is hiring a Registered Nurse (RN) on the Float Pool at the Woodwinds Hospital located in Woodbury, MN.

The Float Pool RN will float to a variety of units including Med/Surg, Orthopedics, Oncology, Telemetry, ICU and more This unique department is a specialty group comprised of passionate RN's that support patient care throughout the hospital. Woodwinds Health Campus opened its 86-bed hospital in August 2000. Located on 30 acres of pristine wetlands in Woodbury, MN, it's the only hospital in the Southeast Metro area. Woodwinds provides convenient, comprehensive, and quality health care for the community. We're known for attention to detail-and attention to patients-and the calming ambiance is enhanced by the surrounding woods and wetlands.

Schedule: This position will be working 0.6 FTE (48 hours every two weeks). The shift length will be 8 hours on the eveningshift with an every other weekend rotation (F,S,S) and a holiday rotation.

Responsibilities Job Description

As a Float Pool RN, you will be responsible for:
  • Demonstrating commitment to principles of the patient care model (Professional Partnership Model) and achieving the Woodwinds nursing vision and strategy.
  • Applying the nursing process, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation, to coordinate outcome focused patient care. Throughout this process, also understands and incorporates holistic nursing theory based on Watson's Theory of Caring aligning with the practice standards of the American Holistic Nurses' Association whenever comprehensive therapy is offered.
  • Effective communication with patient/family, physicians, the interdependent team, and other disciplines regarding the plan of care.
  • Assesses and documents learning needs of the patient and family. Develops an individualized education plan for patients and families based on identified needs.
  • Aides in creating and implementing improvements at the point of care to achieve clinical quality, customer experience, nursing engagement, and efficiency and effectiveness outcomes.
  • Aligns with regulatory requirements, accreditation standards, board of nursing requirements, patient safety requirements, infection control practices, and other established practice standards, policies, guidelines, and procedures.
  • Coordinates the interdependent team while promoting collaborative teamwork and cooperation.
  • Actively participates in the development and achievement of department goals (safety, cost, quality, patient experience, employee engagement).
  • Maintains knowledge of, and follows, all relevant laws, regulations, policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Performs other responsibilities as needed/assigned.
Qualifications

Required Qualifications:
  • Associate degree in Nursing
  • Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Valid RN License from MN Board of Nursing
  • Obtain Specialty certification within two (2) years of hire
  • Expectation of Telemetry training within 6 months of hire
  • New grads are encouraged to apply
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing
  • Acute Care experience
  • Telemetry experience
