We have immediate openings for a Utilities Operations Specialist at our Newark-Bellevue site in Delaware.

WORK SCHEDULE

There are two openings, one per shift listed below:

12-hour Days; 6:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.

12-hour Nights; 6:00 p.m. - 6:00 a.m.

RESPONSIBILITIES DESCRIPTION

The Utilities Operations Specialist has first line accountability to the Work Activity Coordinator (WAC) and reports to the Maintenance & Utilities Engineer. Operates all utility and related equipment in compliance with trade regulations; performs corrective and preventative maintenance functions on all utility equipment; operates utility and maintenance equipment; follows blueprint designs; dismantles and rigs equipment and materials; participates in achieving the company quality goals; operates in compliance with company safety practices; and performs other duties as assigned.

Your key responsibilities will be/what you'll do:

* Operates all utility and related equipment in compliance with trade regulations: demonstrates working knowledge of all codes and documents as required by standard operating procedures follows rules and regulations within specialty trade; accurately sizes systems; performs necessary job site engineering to adapt to field conditions; and leads and assists other mechanics and contractors.

* Performs corrective and preventative maintenance functions: Troubleshoots, diagnoses and makes repairs and adjustments to all types of machinery, boilers, deionized (DI) water systems, Nitrogen (N2)/Carbon Monoxide (CO2) systems, pneumatic control systems, motors and drives, HVAC equipment, compressed air systems, pumps, blowers, shafts and bearings, heat transfer systems, process/utility piping and waste water removal systems, Notifies team leader and maintenance planner when spare parts stock needs adjustment. Is capable of precisely aligning pumps, shafts and motors.

* Operates utility and maintenance equipment: Operates boilers chillers, water conditioning and wastewater systems, pipe threading machines, hand and power tools, forklifts, cranes, dollies, lifts, roller bars and hoists. Is knowledgeable in the use of mechanical diagnostic equipment and techniques.

* Participates in achieving the company quality goals: Dedicated to reducing product variation and to the spirit and body of continuous improvement; strives for a better understanding of our customers' requirements; maintains proficiency in problem solving techniques; embraces the concept of teamwork; takes ownership for the quality of the products produced and services performed; and provides excellent internal and external customer service. Works to achieve compliance with safety rules and guidelines inclusive of DuPont Process Safety Management policies. Maintains quality standards of ISO-9002, environmental standards of ISO-14001.

* Operates in compliance with company safety practices: Complies with and aids in the development of departmental safety rules; ensures all equipment is in good working order and operates in a safe manner; follows procedures for handling and disposal of chemicals; monitors area for hazards; uses safety equipment when required; maintains a safe, clean work area.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Requirements:

* High School diploma or GED equivalent

* Minimum 4 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.

* Advanced mechanical knowledge in the maintenance trades. General knowledge of boilers and steam systems. Knowledge of rotating equipment (air compressors, pumps, and mixers). Troubleshooting ability is necessary. Familiarity with and ability to use measuring instruments such as dial indicators, micrometers, scales, etc.

* Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and to make judgments in job planning.

* Working knowledge of other maintenance skills such as HVAC, plumbing, welding, etc.

The following are preferred:

* Experience in a chemical, pharmaceutical or boiler operations environment. Journeyman or apprenticeship documentation would be preferred.

* Computer experience is helpful.

* Ability to satisfy all training courses is required and certificate from trade schools is an advantage.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: This position requires the ability to work in seated or standing positions for prolonged periods of time; perform sustained manual activities at moderate to heavy levels of exertion; including lifting and moving loads of a minimum of fifty (50) pounds; climb ladders/stairs and work on elevated platforms; use hand tools and operate fixed and mobile plant equipment; work and travel throughout plant environment of varied temperatures and humidity; a full range of motion; and to wear personal protective devices.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT: The working environment is general office and manufacturing plant. Daily contact with employees in other departments is required.
