Salado Isolation Mining Contractors, managing and operating contractor of the Waste Isolation Pilot Plant (WIPP) is currently seeking an Radiological Control Supervisor / Trainer to join our team to support our government customer in Carlsbad, NM. The successful candidate will be responsible for day-to-day implementation of the WIPP Radiological Control Program and Conduct of Operations in all aspects of routine, abnormal, and emergency response work. The successful candidate will provide work assignments for Radiological Control Technicians. The candidate will ensure that radiological support for WIPP operations are conducted in accordance with the approved procedures implementing ALARA principles and compliance with 10 CFR 835. Additionally, the candidate will provide training to technicians and must be qualified to perform their duties on topics, subject matter, and equipment for which they have the experience with the material being presented. They are responsible to teach and evaluate to the standards as presented in TRG-300, Classroom Instructor Level II, or equivalent. Instructors must have demonstrated knowledge of instructional techniques through basic instructor or equivalent training or experience approved by the Rad Con Manager/Rad Con Program Manager. Instructors must have knowledge and/or expertise for the material being presented. Minimum Requirements: These requirements must be met to be considered for this posting. Associates degree with four (4) years of relevant experience, or High school diploma or equivalent with eight (8) years of relevant experience. One (1) year of experience as a Department of Energy (DOE) qualified Radiological Control Technician. Three (3) years of nuclear experience. Demonstrated knowledge of instructional techniques through basic instructor or equivalent training or experience. Must be at least 18 years of age; U.S. citizenship is required except in limited circumstances. See DOE Order 472.2 for additional information. Preferred Qualifications: Two (2) years of experience as a qualified Radiological Control Supervisor. Six (6) years as a qualified Radiological Controls Technician.
