Description

Our Client, one of Wisconsin's Top general contractors, construction managers, and design builders, is seeking a Construction Estimator for their Pewaukee, WI location. This position will specialize in estimating carpentry and concrete requirements for both large and small-scale ground-up commercial construction projects. This position operates Monday-Friday 6:30am-3pmat theirPewaukee, WI location, with a salary ranging from $95,000 to $110,000.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide accurate estimates for assigned ground-up commercial construction projects.
  • Analyze blueprints, specifications, proposals, and related documentation.
  • Prepare time, material, labor, equipment, and specialist cost estimates for construction projects.
  • Consult with clients, vendors, subcontractors, and project managers to formulate estimates.
  • Develop project schedules for the estimating process.
  • Review proposal contract documents (specifications, drawings, etc.) and attend meetings to determine the scope of work and required estimate contents.
  • Review and incorporate historical data as provided by project teams into Estimating System.
  • Prepare detailed estimates by calculating the complete takeoff of the scope of work.
  • Active solicitation of subcontractors, suppliers, and specialty contractors to obtain consistent competitive/ best marketing pricing.
  • Coordinate estimate strategies with Operations and Project Management teams.
  • Assemble and submit formal proposals/final bids, following established VJS procedures.
  • Work with Project Managers to produce written scopes of work and assemble proposals for budget purposes.
  • Ensure all working documents and data are maintained to back up estimate figures.
  • Foster and sustain positive relationships with owners, architects, subcontractors, and clients.
Education/Qualifications Required:
  • 8-10+ years of Estimating experience within the construction industry, ideally specializing in ground-up construction, particularly in carpentry and concrete.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Construction Administration or related degree highly preferred but not required.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of drafting and blueprint reading.
  • Strong Written & Verbal Communication Skills.
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite, construction estimating software, construction management tools, and strong mathematics skills are required.
