Corporate Tax Accounting Manager

Job Summary

Ensure compliance with tax regulations and filing requirements, including income tax, sales tax, and property tax. Responsible for tax processes, including federal and state tax returns and estimated payments, deferred tax provision, and application of applicable accounting literature and tax regulations. Responsible for technical accounting and non-routine processes, such as evaluating and applying new accounting or tax guidance.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:

Tax Return Filings and Payments

Prepares, coordinates, and reviews timely and accurate filings of tax returns, including federal and state income tax, sales tax, and property tax.

Calculates Research and Development tax credit for annual income tax returns, including coordination with internal departments and accounting firm.

Performs and/or reviews estimated tax payments to federal and state authorities, budget for tax accounts, and forecasted cash requirements for tax payments.

Tax Compliance and Financial Reporting

Monitors changes to tax regulations to evaluate applicability to Company; Works in collaboration with cross-functional departments and external accounting firm, as necessary.

Performs and/or reviews general ledger accounting duties, which includes reconciliation of assigned accounts and journal entries to facilitate month-end close.

Prepares and/or reviews annual financial statement footnote disclosures for tax and leasing obligations; Validates compliance with disclosure requirements.

Proactively seeks opportunities to ensure tax compliance through conducting cost segregation studies, monitoring state nexus, and conducting internal sales tax reviews.

Coordinates Company resources and supporting documentation to ensure timely and accurate responses during tax audits or site visits, including research and serving as technical resource.

Accounting Technical Resource, Lease Accounting, and Project Management

Maintains current awareness of accounting and tax requirements, including new and proposed regulations, and evaluates impact of new accounting requirements to Company.

Oversees Lease Accounting: Collaborates with Real Estate, Accounting, and Legal Departments to manage accuracy of data within the lease system and oversees lease accounting processes to support general ledger balances.

Serves as key contributor and/or project manager to implement new accounting requirements, promote process efficiencies, or implement cross-functional initiatives.

Provides direction, performance feedback, coaching and training in a timely and constructive manner.

WHAT IS REQUIRED:

Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting or related field.

5 years' experience in Accounting, General Ledger, Audits or tax experience.

Solid understanding of U.S. GAAP and tax regulations.

Leadership, training or supervisory experience.

Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, primarily Excel (pivot tables, index/match, get data, etc.) with experience in other Microsoft Office products such as Word, PowerPoint and Outlook.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Master's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

Hands-on experience with Oracle ERP, Avalara sales tax software, Lucernex leasing software and/or Incorta business intelligence tool (or similar system functionality).

Current Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license.
