Overview:

The HR Generalist coordinates and administers various Human Resources services for the Seven Hills Foundation, under the direction of the Vice President of Human Resources. Acting as a business partner to the Seven Hills Rhode Island Affiliate, the role involves a high level of independence and collaboration with the HR leadership team.

Salary: $55,000.00 per year

Responsibilities:

HR Generalist Responsibilities:

  • Perform various HR support functions, including maintaining program records and systems.
  • Communicate HR policies and procedures to employees.
  • Assist with employee relations, including complaint investigations and disciplinary matters.
  • Coordinate administrative activities.
  • Source, recruit, and attend job fairs and community events.
  • Facilitate employee onboarding and orientation.
  • Collect and maintain data, prepare reports (EEO, OSHA, VETs, performance evaluations, etc.).
  • Assist with leave administration, ensuring compliance with FMLA, ADA, and other regulations.
  • Handle workers' compensation claims and investigations.
  • Respond to unemployment compensation claims.
  • Coordinate and administer internship programs.
  • Develop job descriptions as needed.
  • Assist with open enrollment and benefits inquiries.
  • Conduct site visits to assess employee satisfaction and address HR concerns.
  • Attend various meetings, conferences, and career fairs.
  • Complete required trainings, certifications, and licensures.
  • Safeguard sensitive and confidential data.
  • Promote and model the organization's philosophy, mission, and core values.
  • Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe environment; follow safety protocols.
  • Be familiar with and promote Seven Hills' policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelors Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or a related field with a minimum of two (2) years of Human Resources experience, preferably within a health care, higher education, or human services nonprofit sector. Alternatively, a combination of relevant experience, including a minimum of five (5) years of HR experience may be substituted for degree.
  • Valid Drivers License Required.
  • Some travel required.
