Provides support to the Logistics Manager and overall logistics function through scheduling, tracking, and managing domestic and international freight movement. Reports to:

Logistics Manager Essential Functions/Duties: Under direction of the Logistics Manager, assist in developing and maintaining a broker management system, working with local International Trade Compliance Officers and Custom Brokers when needed, to establish and manage broker contracts and SOPs. Collaborate with Purchasing, Materials, and Finance departments to identify and troubleshoot import issues, including information gaps, establishing and implementing corrective actions to both address the issue and for continuous improvement efforts. Collaborate with Finance and other necessary parties to help establish and maintain bond request and tracking system. Under direction of the Logistics Manager, works directly with customs brokers, auditors, etc. providing the necessary information to complete import declarations, address discrepancies, etc. Contributes to the creation of freight metrics and is responsible for the creation of regular reports for effective monitoring of broker performance and other logistics costs/services. Interpret international and domestic carriers’ contract and pricing agreements while supporting the renewal and negotiations of contracts. Audit freight invoices for correct charges by tracking and logging invoice data to support freight metrics. Investigate and resolve damage claims. Complete accurate and timely scheduling and dispatching of trucks and rail cars to ensure adequate flow of inbound products to meet customer demands Prepare and maintain necessary documents for carriers and freight forwarders. Includes creating and maintaining a comprehensive filing system. Provide shipment capacity forecasts to carriers and freight forwarders. Ensure shipments are in compliance with all safety, DOT, AAR, environmental, and other pertinent rules and regulations and company policies. Under direction of the Logistics Manager, complete transactions related to custom bonds renewals, requests, and any other needs. Communicate compliance and other concerns to the Logistics Manager. Conduct necessary training to internal customers involved in transactions requiring Required Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: High School Diploma or equivalent required. AAS or greater in related discipline preferred (Business, Supply Chain, etc.) Minimum 3 years’ experience in related role (logistics, trade and/or trade compliance related). Customs Brokers License. Demonstrated knowledge of import regulations. Strong organizational, priority management, and planning skills. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and in teams. Advanced computer literacy and knowledge of Software such as Word, Excel, Spreadsheets, PowerPoint and Access. The pay range anticipated for this role is $55,000 to $65,000 per year. Please keep in mind that this range represents an estimate based upon requested experience and skill sets.
