JOST INTERNATIONAL IS HIRING A SMALL PARTS ASSOCIATE FOR A POSITION IN GRAND HAVEN, MICHIGAN

JOST International belongs to the JOST World family headquartered in Neu Isenberg Germany. Our history began on January 1, 1981 in Grand Haven, Michigan. The Michigan location is both the North America corporate headquarters and the landing gear and king pin manufacturing plant. JOST sells to semi-truck and trailer builders and we currently hold over 70% market share worldwide in the heavy-duty truck Landing Gear industry.

SMALL PARTS ASSOCIATE INTRODUCTION:

This position reports to the Warehouse Supervisor. It is solely accountable for the fulfillment of all assigned duties and has authority delegated commensurate with assigned responsibilities.

Performs all duties related to organizing, compiling and correctly packing/packaging the shipping of goods and materials. Performs work that involves conventional shipment of landing gear, small components and all related products with some problem solving. Verifies that all outgoing shipments are properly placed in the warehouse in pre-designated areas.

SMALL PARTS ASSOCIATE AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY: Includes, but not limited to:
  1. Process packing slips, timely, meeting required customer and company/department deadlines.
  2. Schedule pick-ups with transportation companies via phone or internet.
  3. Process customer orders in SAP to pick and pack needed parts.
  4. All 5S and required house-keeping duties including but not limited to; sweeping, cleaning, yard/area clean up and organization, keeping racks, bins and warehouse floor organized and in a safe and orderly manner.
  5. Any additional duties that have not been specifically stated, but which may be assigned and those that are logically and properly inherent to this position.
SMALL PARTS ASSOCIATE REQUIREMENTS:
  1. Able to read and write legible with basic math skills as defined by company standards.
  2. Basic computer knowledge and ability; SAP and Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook.
  3. Must be able to cross train within the functions of the shipping processes.
  4. Ability to use and operate a scale.
  5. Ability to gain knowledge and understanding of JOST company safety rules and procedures, quality process and procedures and JOST Basic Processes.
  6. Ability to understand and follow JOST Basic Processes.
  7. Ability to gain knowledge and understanding of JOST products, processes and customer requirements.
  8. Excellent communication skills require and must possess a high level accuracy in all work and error free work.
  9. Must be able to wear the required OSHA PPE.
  10. Highly dependable, motivated and self-driven with excellent attendance.
  11. Ability to follow, understand and strictly abide by the Work Instructions. (WI)
  12. Ability to learn and process transactions in SAP software.
  13. Must be able to work communicate well with other departments with in JOST to be able to respond to customer needs.
SMALL PARTS ASSOCIATE PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  1. Work is generally performed in a warehouse setting.
  2. While performing duties of this job, the employee will regularly; sit, stand, walk, reach, bend, twist and occasionally will be required to stoop, kneel, lift or move objects of 51 pounds or less with or without assistance.
