Purchasing Manager

Our client, a leader in Health Networking, is seeking an experienced and strategic Purchasing Manager to join their team in Greensboro, NC. The Purchasing Manager will be responsible for overseeing the procurement of capital equipment and services, ensuring optimal cost-efficiency and maintaining strong vendor relationships. This role requires a proactive approach to managing purchasing activities, including negotiation, contract management and compliance with company policies and industry regulations.

Purchasing Manager Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement purchasing strategies for capital equipment and services
  • Conduct market research to identify potential suppliers and evaluate their capabilities
  • Negotiate contracts, terms and pricing with vendors to secure the best possible deals
  • Manage the entire procurement process, from requisition to delivery, ensuring timely and accurate fulfillment of orders
  • Monitor and analyze market trends and supplier performance to make informed purchasing decisions
  • Collaborate with internal departments, including finance, operations and legal, to align purchasing activities with organizational goals
  • Maintain accurate records of purchases, contracts and supplier performance metrics
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, industry standards and regulatory requirements
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and stakeholders
  • Identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements within the procurement function

Purchasing Manager Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience in capital purchasing
  • In-depth knowledge of capital requirements and depreciation
  • Proven experience in healthcare capital procurement
  • Strong negotiation and contract management skills
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Lawson - Infor experience
  • Understanding of ECRI capital review
  • Proficient Excel skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge of industry regulations and compliance standards
