Savannah River Mission Completion (SRMC) is seeking a Senior Civil Quality Control (QC) Engineer I or II to be based in our Aiken, SC location on the Savannah River Site (SRS).

The Senior Civil Quality Control (QC) Engineer I or II provides quality control support to operations and project teams for construction projects. Performs quality control inspection and surveillance activities in support of operations, project and/or maintenance activities.

Responsibilities:
  • Directs personnel to implement quality requirements and to accurately status the results.
  • Reviews design output documents in accordance with approved procedures to establish inspection requirements in quality assurance procedures, construction plans, and/or work packages.
  • Coordinates with internal and external sources to resolve quality issues and provides status of the inspection/test activities to stakeholders for the work activity.
  • Reviews technical criteria, personnel qualifications and work sequence on work packages including the notation of hold points prior to performance of inspections.
  • Assists in resolution of code, specifications and drawing interpretations with Design Engineers as needed.
  • Performs or leads the performance of inspection, witness, test and/or surveillance, and documents the results of the inspection activities.
  • Assesses the completeness of quality related activities and quality verification documentation prior to preparation of quality control releases for turnover.
  • Attends mobilization meetings and monitors subcontractors activities for proper implementation.
  • Reviews suppliers and/or subcontractor's quality verification documentation for traceability and specification compliance.
  • Reviews, assesses and updates subcontractor costs, manpower and materials.
  • Approves suppliers and/or subcontract invoices and application for payment prior to submission to procurement.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Additional responsibilities as a Sr. QC Engineer II:

  • Directs the quality inspection activities of subordinate QC engineers and other inspection personnel as assigned.
  • Assists in resolution of complex codes, specifications and drawing interpretations. Leads the performance of inspection, witness, test, and surveillance of the inspection activities, and ensures the results are documented.
  • Reviews suppliers or subcontractor's quality program for compliance to established procedures, attends mobilization meetings and monitors their activities for proper implementation.
Qualifications:

High School Diploma / GED and relevant work experience in Quality Assurance, Civil Quality Control, or Engineering in the fields of operations, maintenance, construction or industrial manufacturing as defined in the job description.

Additional information:
Certification with continuing technical training is required for performance of inspections and surveillance activities. Specialized training may also be required to support certain technical areas

  • Previous/current civil quality control certifications

Minimum Pay:
USD $72,900.00/Yr.

Maximum Pay:
