Job Summary and Qualifications

Job Summary:

The Assistant Controller II is responsible for performing many of the day-to-day activities of the Accounting Department with the intention to transition into a hospital Controller role in the near-term. This includes but is not limited to the following: Directing month-end closing activities; Preparing and reviewing month-end account reconciliations; Responsible for audits of the accounting department; Oversees members of the accounting staff; Performing special projects as directed by the CFO, Assistant CFO and Controller. The Assistant Controller must also support the facilitys Standards of Performance and ICARE values.

What you will do in this position:

  • You will be responsible for performing many of the day-to-day activities of the Accounting Department.
  • You will direct month-end closing activities.
  • You will prepare and review month-end account reconciliations.
  • You will be responsible for audits of the accounting department.
  • You will oversee members of the accounting staff.
  • You will perform special projects as directed by the CFO, Assistant CFO and Controller.

What qualifications you will need:

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance, MBA or CPA certification preferred
  • 3-5 years of experience in Accounting
  • Previous experience in a hospital Assistant Controller role preferred
  • Medicare and third party payer knowledge preferred
