Youth and Biblical Counseling

Purpose

As the Pastoral Youth Assistant, the assistant will skillfully build relationships and educate the youth to be mature and mission-minded disciples of Christ. As the Assistant of Biblical Counseling, the assistant will counsel congregants and will equip the members of Christ Community Church to do one another ministry.

Accountability

The associate pastor will report directly to the Senior Pastor.

Responsibilities

1) Biblical Counseling

Care for the members of our church through Biblical Counseling

Develop relationships with other counselors and organizations related to Biblical counseling

Participate in continuing education to be more effective at biblical counseling

Equip the members of CCC in the skills of one another ministry

2) Youth

Recruit, direct, and oversee volunteers for our 5-6 grade ministry

Lead our 7-12 grade ministry

Encourage youth to participate in the body of Christ.

Provide opportunities for youth to serve, build relationships, and be on mission.

Plan special events throughout the year

3) General

Care for the members of our church through occasional preaching

Attend to the ministry of the word and prayer

Coordinate with the staff for outreach events

Skills and Qualifications

Be a member of Christ Community Church

Meet the qualifications of a elder

Be available to work 30 hours per week

Have training or be in the process of training for required duties

Compensation

$50,000

2 weeks vacation (additional 4 for other weeks ministry or other work)

Book budget of $600

Conference budget of $500

Meeting/contacts budget of $1000

Christ Community Church is located in Harker Heights. We are situated in central Texas near Ft. Cavazos Army Base next to I-14. We were planted 5 years ago with 60 people and have grown to average 300 on Sunday mornings. (These numbers include children and adults). We moved into our own facility in 2022 and currently offer three Sunday morning services.

We are a reformed Southern Baptist Church who is a part of the Pillar Network. We are elder led, confessional, and covenantal church.

Our values are described as Pulpit, Table, and Square.

Pulpit - we have a high value of God’s inerrant word. We preach exegetical sermons and encourage family and individual worship.

Table - we believe that discipleship happens in a faith community. We encourage hospitality, service, and friendship both in the church and in the home.

Square - We believe that every member is a missionary. As we go out into the public square we boldly take our faith with us.
